Freudenberg Awarded: Every Wind Turbine Counts
Contract for Repowering with N149/5.7
The German Federal Network Agency has awarded Green Wind Energy the contract for a Nordex N149/5.7 in the Märkisch-Oderland district in Brandenburg. The installation will be coordinated in 2023 in tandem with construction of the Beiersdorf-Freudenberg project, which has already been awarded a contract for two Nordex N163/5.7s.
Every wind turbine is one step closer to independence!
According to the German wind energy association Bundesverband WindEnergie (BWE), wind turbines with total output of 12,800 MW will be required for new construction across Germany in the next year. Each and every wind turbine will be important in becoming independent of fossil fuels and tackling climate change! “We are delighted,” said Green Wind managing director Martin Kühl, “that we can play our part in these critical times!”
Dismantling of two old wind turbines
The wind turbine to be built in 2023 has a hub height of 164 meters and rated power of 5,700 kW. As part of the repowering project, two Enercon E-40s dating from 1999 will be dismantled.
There are plans to reforest four hectares of mixed deciduous woodland as a mitigating measure.
